Clara Iglesia is a skilled female smith who stands at an impressive six feet tall and weighs in at a solid 150 pounds. With her muscular build and heavy-set physique, it's clear that Clara is no stranger to physical labor. Her long blonde hair falls to her shoulders. Clara is always dressed in practical leather armor that is designed to protect her from the dangers of the forge. The armor covers her torso and limbs, leaving her hands and head free for precision work. Despite the weight of her armor, Clara moves with a fluid grace that speaks to her many years of experience in the smithy.
One of Clara's most notable features are her hands, which are always covered by thick leather gloves. These gloves protect her hands from the heat of the forge, as well as from the sharp edges of the tools she works with. Even when not actively working, Clara can often be seen fidgeting with a small tool or piece of metal, her skilled hands always seeking out the next project to tackle.
Clara’s story began in a small village near Amoren. Her family were farmers, and from a young age, Clara was expected to help out with the daily chores. However, it was clear early on that Clara had a knack for working with metal. She would often sneak away from the farm to watch the village blacksmith at work, fascinated by the way he could shape metal with nothing more than heat and hammer. As she grew older, Clara became more and more determined to become a smith in her own right. She began working as an apprentice to the village blacksmith, spending long hours at the forge and learning the intricacies of metalworking. Clara quickly proved to be a natural, and it wasn't long before her skill caught the eye of an artificer who passed through the village.
The artificer was impressed with Clara's work, and soon she was supplying him with parts for his own creations. Over time, he took Clara under his wing and began teaching her the art of artificing. She was a quick learner, and before long she was working alongside the artificer to create golems for the war effort. Clara's skill and dedication to her work proved invaluable during the war, and she quickly became renowned enough to be given the title of Valran. However, after many years of working, Clara decided it was time to retire. She settled down in a small town and began teaching artificing and smithing to the next generation of metalworkers.
Despite her retirement, Clara's reputation as a skilled artisan never faded. Her lessons are still highly sought after, and she charged a premium of 500df per season for her lessons which she holds in her rather large workshop that is attached to her house located in Amoren. She also is willing to initiate her students into Brand, if they prove they are at least Journeyman level in Smithing and have paid for lessons.
