Personality
- Asterius is usually charismatic, yet stubborn at times and fond of hearty company, making jokes at his own or more so others' expense. When it comes to his interactions with others, he is charismatic and comforting. Asterius is a determined and blunt male who is devoted to his path of being a protector and defender.
He often bellows for a worthy opponent, challenging for anyone to stop him. Considered to be an exceptional warrior with a strong sense of honor, Asterius is a man who adamantly stays true to his life path as a warrior. He does not care for trickery, lies, or bribery if it can be helped, believing that one's merit and tact can carve a path to a prosperous future. A man who lives by his weapon, he will even continue his warrior lifestyle during times of peace.
Fierce on the battlefield, he turns into a protective and humble man in the presence of his circle of friends or around the common folk, and is one known to consider being friends with anyone at any given time if he's not forced to fight with them. Asterius greatly respects the resolve of others, no matter the gender or race. He has a fascination with meeting and fighting against exceptional warriors in hopes of learning something from them.
In terms of his attitude towards the common folk, Asterius is quick enough to fly into a rage due to his bull temper if they are hurt as he believes any warrior worth their salt has an unspoken duty to protect the innocent. In terms of the former case, it can be difficult to rationalize with him if he gets angry. Despite this brutish and brooding allure Asterius exudes, the male also demonstrates an iron will when protecting those few who are in need and offering his unwavering support. If we delve a little further, Asterius has several personality traits that make him unique from most of his kind.
Bravery:- The first of his more redeeming traits is his bravery. From an early age, he was a very brave child, always protecting his friends who would get in trouble and taking the blame for them. He would always abandon his fear, and never stopped moving forward no matter the hardships he faced, like losing his family. Though being a brave soul, his courage often makes him a reckless man, always throwing himself in the face of danger, rationalizing it as seeking adventure and fulfilling his purpose. His courage can also lead Asterius to be very overconfident in his own capabilities unless he knows for a fact he is far more skilled than his enemy. His bravery often bleeds into his confidence, as when you have a courageous soul like his, it's hard for people to doubt you and if you know your shit.
Unpredictability:- Not so much good for those who dont know him, but definitely good for Asterius, his unpredictability allows him to throw people off in some way. The neosalt can be very mysterious, always brandishing that charming smile and diving deep into one's soul with those ever-alluring eyes, never allowing those he has yet to bond with know exactly what he's thinking. Those who come to know and love the rathari find his sarcasm and mocking politeness endearing, where others, be it friend or stranger, find it unsettling and there are very few who are willing to trust him because he is a hard man to read.
Another part of his unpredictable nature is in fact his manner of tone and speech. When it boils down to being polite, but indirect, it often causing those he speaks with to carefully consider his words and their responses, finding that there is often a hidden meaning in his words. Feeling that being predictable leaves one with far too many flaws than its worth Asterius is the type to always take the unorthodox approach, thinking so far out of the box one would question if it truly even existed. This works in tandem with his adaptability, making a perfect pair for inconceivable combat patterns and traps, and sending even the best-laid plans into disarray. Asterius openly questions and, in some cases, mocks authority only to encourage impulse and enthusiasm in those around him, always searching for new ideas and experiences, and eagerly laying waste to one's own convention and complacency to further reach new heights.
Adaptability:- Stagnation is not something Asterius knows well, as he has always been evolving with time. He is a rather resourceful rathar, able to think on his feet and change to the situation to get the desired result. Seeing his fair share of battle has shown him that nothing is constant and things can switch on you in a blink of an eye for better or worse. This coupled with his natural instincts makes him dangerous if in combat. By being this adaptive, he is able to take experiences, apply them, and evolve his approach to the situation at hand, both in a fight or in social settings.
Personable:- Being the life of any party, Asterius gives an approachable aura no matter the setting....unless you've pissed him off, then steer clear of him. Always in good spirits most of the time the Rathari can be an uplifting force, seeing the good in any situation, unless it's truly hopeless, then at that point he'll do what he can to help ease the pain. From jokes to telling stories or making a complete fool of himself he enjoys seeing others smile and being the cause, as he knows how much it helps the soul breathe, coming from his own personal experiences and pains. Just like a big ball of laughter and fun, he is like a splash of cool water when needed.

History
- Born to an honorable father and mother in a village in the lands of Teos, Asterius would learn the beauty of battle & magic at a very young age. His father was a Freelance monster hunter & mercenary, finding honor and fame in slaying dangerous beast and criminals around the Teosai countryside, where his mother was an accomplished sorceress of skill to aid their village.
He spent most of his childhood learning the lifestyle of a warrior, as much as a young kid could grasp at that time. During these times he taught him both the joys and hardships of life itself, learning to accept the beauty in all things. They showed him many wonders of both his father's and mother's people and making sure to instill pride in his heritage.
His mother taught him the ways of magic, inscribing the rune of Squall on him, and shepherding him in the art of the rune magic. She instilled in him the importance of tranquility and being one with nature in order to commune and shape the elements to his will. It was tough, but Asterius pushed through his training.
His father, on the other hand, taught him lessons in combat. Asterius learned the family business, both in theory in lectures and hands-on joining his father in the field. From ages 10-15, he was hard at work, training, and trying to perfect his skill with the only weapon that felt right in his hands, a battle-axe.
Seeing the potential in his son, his father gave him the Rune of Oath. This was the final step and with it, Asterius learned an important lesson as a warrior, and that was no matter who your opponent is, fight as if it's your final battle. It was a lesson he would carry with him into every battle afterward.
Things seemed to be going so well for Asterius, but tragedy soon struck him and his village after his 19th birthday. While out on a hunt the smell of smoke drifted in the air, the direction coming from where his village was. Rushing back he couldnt believe his eyes, as his village was ablaze in flame.
He immediately tried to find his parents, but he didnt know he would find them as he did. His mother was clinging to life, only for him to witness his father being slain before him. As his father fell Asterius saw them, their forms covered in shadow from the raging flames. Five grisly shadows stared down at him, their eyes illuminated by the flames casting a silhouette on their forms.
"If you hate us enough to seek revenge for what we did, then come find us when you are stronger, till then try not to die as the last son of the Tipaldos Clan." a feminine voice hissed to him, the figures vanishing within the flames. Tears pouring from his eyes he let out a cry of anger, pain, and sorrow. Taking his mother in his arms, he went to go take her to get help, but she refused and told him that it was already too late for her.
She told him she was sorry for not telling him about his father's clan sooner, that she failed as a parent to protect her baby boy. With her final breath, she told him how proud of him she was, for being so strong and talented. She told him to seek out his own purpose.
With that, she died in his arms, to which he spent the next five hours sobbing uncontrollably. On the next day, Asterius buried his mother and father's corpses, and soon after, left on a journey of self-discovery and honing his skills. For years Asterius traveled around the Mornoth region, earning a living as a slayer of both man and monster.
"They say the best way to know a soul, is by how they fight, so take up your arms, and show me who you really are."
