Introduction

Hello there! Welcome to the hub of plotnotes that are at my- I mean our disposal! You must be wondering what the hell half of this shit is, and truth be told I honestly couldn't blame you. A lot of the posts found in this thread are materials that highlight certain aspects of the character, from an OOC perspective, which in turn provides players the opportunity to make plans and (of course) fun plots to write together with.

Let's get started by explaining each section then. Shall we?

Notes
In our first section you find a compilation of general notes and reminders, things that may need to be done or perhaps even goals and personal challenges that are set in place. There may not be a lot of impressive material here, sure, but believe it or not, some of it's quite important. Otherwise who'd be able to remember birthdays, or deadlines for that matter, when you have so much 'everything else' crammed inside your mind. Wait... I mean my mind! Anyways you can use the Notes section to reference any general details!

Plots
Now this is a section worth keeping an eye on! The Pots section gives a more 'in-depth' look at what sort of plots are in line for Scenarios. Each season gets a focus on a Scenario for the character, which is why any story progression ties into what's called the "Main Scenario" for the character.

But of course, there are other useful and nifty things to scope out, as it's important to remember how Side Quests help promote character growth... or just provide them with cool materials or fancy gear. There are also quests related to the select few party members at Ricky's disposal, which are comparably side quests also but usually involve PC and NPC activity together.

Abilities
A very elaborate outline of the Roles and Abilities section of Rickter's CS, the Abilities section explains the concept of the roles tied to a PC, and in turn the abilities that they can learn within each role.

Party Members
A more vivid look into the NPC's that accompany Ricky through his adventures, the Party Members section gives in-depth analytics of what each member is capable of. Naturally, every Party Member that can travel with Ricky is able to improve their skills further, which is why this section outlines their prowess as well as what their roles are.

Affinity
Aaaaah, this is a rather important section to check back into later. Any factions that Ricky becomes affiliated with, or simply learns of, will find a spot here. While noting Factions and their importance to the character, however, there is also a section dedicated to PC interactions as well.

What does this section entail exactly? Well, you may find that Ricky is very opinionated, which becomes reflected in this section after enough interaction has occurred. When Ricky has a solid impression on another PC, that PC collectively builds either a positive or negative influence; impacting their stance with Ricky to the point where they can be his greatest ally or worst enemy. It ultimately falls to the PC and their interactions with Ricky, but you may find that reaching the highest Affinity can really benefit your PC in time.

Encounters & Situations
Now this is a rather fun and amusing section! Encounters and Situations is more of a functioning prompt giver, as it involves the use of dice rolls (from Dnd or Pathfinder, you know the like) to determine what sort of situation your PC is given. It's a bit of a fun way to put your character on the spot and seeing how they carry out the prompt that is given to them.

Trove
The last section of our wonderful hub of intrigue! The Trove section of the Plotnotes is where you'll find any and all rare or exotics Ricky comes across. Any perks or favors he gains from an NPC or Faction group, unusual weapons or gear obtained in quests, and even key items or components necessary to craft a special weapon or armor. There are entries referred to as "Articles" for every item or perk found here, each one giving a closer look at what exactly that Article is about.

Abilities Hub

Note: This section is completely just for the sake of fun, and isn't actually a part of the skill/leveling system that has been implemented here. If anything it's just a creative spin that's been taken into account, and given form for a test run on this wonderful site!

Introduction

Note: The Roles and Abilities section of this CS is purely OOC material, and isn't an integrated part of the skill system on Ransera.

The Roles and Abilities system is an implemented idea that combines RPG based leveling systems with the skill progression system found here. A typical leveling system revolves around grinding through levels to unlock new abilities or even some unique powers connected to that character depending on the character/lore in question. However this take on the system is based more on skill progression, alongside the consideration of story/plot progression made with this character.

Roles
For this PC there are a set number of "Roles" available, but what is a Role exactly? Well if you've ever played or watched other PVP/PVE RPGs, there are some that contain a system with various roles one can play. People who prefer damage above all usually go for DPS, tanks are the juggernauts of the battlefield, and healers keep the party alive. It's a pretty straightforward system that works for most RPG's, and the source of inspiration behind this section here.

Improving Roles
Each Role this PC has can be developed further, which is where the skill-based system found here plays in part. When these Roles change, more and more abilities become available to learn and unlock in their progression. Most of the abilities found here are action-based, meaning they tie into combat or require a fair amount of skill leveling to pull off with succession. Not only does the improvement of Roles allow this, but they also play a part in how the story is able to progress as well.

Abilities
Abilities are broken down into three separate branches and play a pivotal role in how this PC develops. The first branch is Action abilities, and as the name indicates they tend to happen through the use of intent. Movement abilities are the second branch, and their use impacts the PC's capacity to get around in certain conditions. Finally, the Support abilities are those that, as imposed, support the character in certain situations.

Unlocking New Abilities
Most RPG's utilize a leveling system a player simply has to grind through, unlocking the abilities tied to their character through that said system. This system however implements the Skill and Lore mechanics, and therefore requires the successful building of the two in order to attain these new Abilities. Movesets for combos aren't just unlocked, but earned through the PC's trial and error within the RP.

Status Ailments
When engaged in combat it's possible to inflict an ailment on an opponent, depending on their resistances that is, which in turn can lead to a guaranteed victory if utilized tactfully. These are some of the types of ailments PC's can inflict onto opponents:

Battle Styles
Battle Styles are essentially combat forms that Rickter can take on, each form being unique in the abilities that they offer. Substantially their versatility is what enables Rickter to utilize them, as each Battle Style is catered to bring a whole new edge to his combat prowess. Making him a potentially deadly asset in any battles he partakes in.

Linked Commands
While Rickter is out exploring, he and any of his personal party members are able to perform "Linked Commands" for certain situations. Dependent on what Rickter or his companions can do, they can even apply themselves to support allies in the middle of combat. Higher Leadership skills will allow more unique, and even personal, Linked Commands to be unlocked.

► Show Spoiler

Formation Commands
When hard pressed in certain situations, such as being surrounded by enemies, victory can still be won through the application of Formation Commands. Rickter and his party band together in these instances to create a formation, and within that formation will hold the line until victory becomes certain, and each possible Formation, when applied practically, is capable of handling specific situations. Higher Tactic skills can also unlock more Formation Commands also.

Influence Guide
One thing to remember about relationships is how complicated they can be... which is why this section narrows it down for a specified PC. After a bit of PC to PC interaction, you may find an article based on them here. Within the article, there is information related to what this PC feels about yours, as well as a scale to determine how strong the friend/foe dynamic is between them.

Encounters/Situations

The idea of this section is to generate random prompts, whether they be used mid-thread or as potential starters, this section gives a way to add more flavor to a PC and their behavioral aspects. The idea is to roll a die from a select category, and see which number is the ordained situation they must go through.

In short you pick a category fitting to your situation, be it wanting to start a new thread or add material to fill a post, and apply the appointed prompt to your situation however you see fit. The challenge of this is applying your own creativity to it, to help make the situational prompt interesting.
