The Hand of Theid
"Decades ago, a group of like-minded mages gathered together to uphold a theory which they believed could control the universe. That the world functioned in equal parts, order, and disorder."
- Sampson Boragard, The Dragon of Theid
- A secret society born from the ideology and philosophy that mages are the next step in the evolutionary line, The Hands of Theid were born to ensure that magekind sits upon the apex of the social order. What first began as a congregation of comradery and fellowship among the mages of Vestria has blossomed into an organization hellbent on seeing the mages of Radenor free from their shackles.
Inspired by Hedra Theid's near and total domination of Radenor, as well as the Magocracy of Daravin, the Hands of Theid have been rooted in Vestrian society, from the mages of the guild to the common folk, from the courts of the gentry all the way sympathizers across the four kyngdoms of Radenor. Due to the fact that magic is legal within the kingdom, they hide in plain sight and many wouldn't even know one was a member save for the trident symbol of the group they brandish on a well-hidden part of their body, only visible when in contact with ether.
♅ What We Stand For
- Ⅰ} Empowerment
- First and foremost, the core idea of the Hand of Theid is to see mages elevated to the pinnacle of prestige and power in Radenor. They believe that those blessed by arcane power are the highest among the evolutionary chain. They make it their mission to guide and cultivate young talent whenever found. They encourage mages to break past their limits and reach beyond what mundane society would call acceptable.
- Ⅱ} Independance
- A mage should be independent of thought from the riffraff of the mundane and uncultured. They believe that like the mages of Daravin that nothing is off limits to those that dare to take it. Knowledge, power, prestige, it matters not, nothing should be out of a mage's reach and their reach should be boundless.
- Ⅱ} Supremacy
- Above all else, is the supremacy of mages
The Facets of Operation
- The Hand of Theid have their hands in many pots, but more so the ones that gain them both respect and infamy the rogues and even some guild mages across Radenor.
The Royal Beasts
- The Royal Beasts make up the upper echelon of the Hands of Theid, holding a council on how to advance their power. Masters at advancing and nurturing magical talent and discovery, as well as masters of espionage & battle, as advising mundane kyngs and qveens of Radenor. Though they all share equal power in the organization, a Beast is always in charge of one of the five facets of the organization.
