Description: Helena Flowers is a woman with an interesting story. Supposedly, she came to Atinaw some time ago from the Imperium -- and with her came a gift she supposedly called the secret to eternal life. A carefully guarded secret, others around her began to speculate to its potency and origins, though the woman frequently raised brows as she pointed to photographs once taken of her when the technology was first introduced. She would appear beside the old Imperator, and other famous figures -- such as Darnell Reed, a mogul of a gilded time.
Before long people began to confirm her story. Old and sick men of great riches claimed immortality, no longer infirm. Crippled men were, suddenly, again able to walk. With each gift, she was given patrons, sponsors to her and her activities. Some became loyal members of her board, for what was then the small but growing Western Seafarer's Guild. Within years her operations expanded, the woman -- still not known to be a Dranoch -- becoming an exceptionally prominent figure in Kamdin, her company nearly monopolizing trade with the Imperium, and then the entire North Dock.
But around Helena things began to change. In recent times, the section of the city surrounding her guild headquarters has become stricken with an infestation of what some call 'madness'; roving bands in the night, murderous gangs. Her rivals find their laborers as mere bones or not at all, and the homeless and sick continue to go missing within the city's limits. For the longest time it was impossible to link these happenings to her as a source or origin, but with the coming of the Black Remedy to Atinaw, others have begun to grow suspicious of her as the matron to a ring of death and cannibalism unlike any seen before.
There is much known of Helena; her charisma, the way she carries herself with a sharp if demeaning confidence, even maintaining her grit in the face of ruling Lords. There is also much about her that remains shrouded in secrecy. Her goals are uncertain, and none have yet confirmed whether she holds a connection to the Court of Dusk. The investigation continues.
