Description:
Giselle was born in Vendigad under the parentage of pilgrims who had a close relation with the Eldashan, although growing up proved very difficult for Giselle, the living conditions proved a constant challenge, so much that they would integrate the nomadic lifestyle within their routes, eventually immigrating to Radenor to begin their lives. At the age of 21, Giselle had decided to immigrate to the Grisic Empire for higher prospects on her own. She knew she would have to leave her faith and religion behind in fear that she would be persecuted. She threw away her Ela’Shenial family name and adopted a surname that would ensure she could pass off as human.
At that point, she had served under the Pillars of Duty wanting to start from the bottom as a mere skullery maid, until a lord noticed her talent for science, particularly amongst recognising blights and their physiological changes. She immersed in her findings and helping the lord, only to be cast aside, ridiculed with abuse for her racial differences and simply cast aside in the streets. Life in Grisic became very hard for the woman and prospects started to dry up until she met Samuel, a Koloskan adventurer who initiated her into the Golden Eagles, she became the right hand woman for research and began to earn quite a reputation for discovery, unearthing cultures and relics that would benefit the Grisic Empire.
Tragedy had struck when she and a crew had started exploring the continent of Icheron, recording their findings and keeping a full record of the history that had been left behind. Many records were wiped out after Lorien's invasion on the Great City of Cahan, the crew had been exhausted and Samuel was consumed by greed, knowing that there was something else on this island. It was Samuel's quest for immortality that led to utter tragedy. He was tempted by the Remnants of Brazim's Agents that lingered around Natanis and Caena, leaving her with Samuel's legacy, something that she had carried on reluctantly.
Eventually, Giselle began to become open-minded of her Sil’Norai heritage that she returned to Vendigad to embark on a magical journey, finding that she had an affinity for magic when she began to become interested in an Caiman Rathor’s pottery making skill; it was Sylvok Se’haal that initiated her into the art with nothing but a crumble of broken china she had, she grounded it into a powder and swallowed the remnants, instructing Giselle to do the same, only she was asked to inhale the powder. She would continue to inhale it until all the powder sank into her lungs and her mark of control was formed, She befriended the sweet old lady who warned her of the dangers of magic and knowing when to tell your body to slow down. She became very disciplined under Sylvok's teachings who used her magic to create and craft pottery structures, only once she had used it in war many years ago, but never again could she make a stone garden of petrified statues, contorted and screaming with anguish again. She chose the sweeter part of life and a much more simple life, but she always wondered what Giselle would choose to do with the magic.
The Sil’Norai remained humble throughout her studies and began to travel to Tyrclaid for further prospects where she enrolled into Mellitene where she received her second mark of control and her most dangerous achievement yet: Resonance. She feared becoming a resoner, for it was the most dangerous magic to ever and yet she was more cautious than ever when using it, moreso than others who usually fail to comprehend the concept of Particularity, however she would excel through and learn much more about the world and magic in its place, so much that she began to get involved politically, seeking out ways to prevent magehunting from across the world.
She began working with anti-mage hunting organizations such as the Covenant and other sects, campaigning against Sundering and the cruel torture of mages; however, that would prove to be a difficult challenge; she knew that Sunderers would eventually become one step ahead, forging relics of great power or even searching for them within the ancient routes of where Sundering began: From the existence of the Ald’Norai.
Greyson, her husband and a Lorien merchant and artificer, would become empowered by her work and eventually a quick romance blossomed. They married, but yet she continued her work from across the globe, traveling from coast to coast in search of answers, making valuable friends that will one day ensure she would fulfill her goal, although little does she know the ghosts of her past continue to haunt her.
