Expert - Phantasmal Reflection
Another ability derived from Phantasm, Phantasmal Reflection is a trick of the mind utilizing illusory backlash upon himself. Should Vesper anticipate an outcome, he may alter the impact of that intention in any myriad of ways by enforcing his will upon that truth. This necessitates at least a vague understanding of some component from what he is dealing with, yet through that understanding he may alter trajectories and forces to lessen or nullify actions and spells levied against him. The expense and difficulty of this ability is measured by how much he had to bend the truth to create that desired outcome, meaning that if he were to turn a near-miss into a miss, it would not be so costly as attempting to reduce certain death to a minor wound which would surely thrust him into Overstepping. Once he has utilized this ability, his Memory Palace becomes ever more dangerous to him and no other: the nightmares he suffers learn these techniques, and will only utilize them against himself. There may come a time when Vesper can never linger within his own Memory Palace. lest the nightmares devour him with a scourge of flame. The safest place from Vesper is therefore gradually within his own Memory Palace.
Master - Memomancy
Further refining his control over Phantasms, Vesper has highly specialized in such illusory powers. He is capable of replicating the memories of nearly any spell or magical ability wielded by those with memories of casting them for only slightly more Ether cost than a mage of that caliber, provided he has properly traversed into a mage's Memory Palace and copied their memories into a Phantasm he may then utilize, stuffing it into his own noxious Memory Palace. Taking his art in this direction, Vesper has foregone much of his development as a Remnomancer, shedding both Master-level spells of Trial and Astralization. Furthermore, his own Memory Palace has become toxic to him, and he must not linger within it for his Ether will begin to bleed and he will slowly bubble away and die if he does not quickly travel to another. This leaves him highly vulnerable to both Trial, and his own Astralization should it ever be used against him in some manner. He also struggles lingering enough to order his mind from prior mutations, anything beyond the automatic shuffling and incorporation of these experiences leading him to experience this acidic environment that transcends his physiology. Should any escape to his Memory Palace and do him harm, he would be hard pressed to get them out if it took more than a few minutes.
