5th of Ash, Year 4621
He had another dream through his extended rest. He laid in a woven bed tied within a wooden frame, dragged along by someone's Chariot as they rode. Another person had his own Chariot attached to theirs, hooked wheel-to-wheel so it didn't skid or fall over as they went. Within his dreamscape, he was at the prow of a great ship, overlooking the seas. The oceans were narrow, surrounded by dunes of sand, which shifted around their vessel as they sailed across the crystalline waters.
He could feel the warmth of the sun on his skin. So... vivid. Had it always been that way, back where he was born? Sometimes he felt he had created this false, perfected version of what Railon was really like. He had forgotten the storms, the cloudy skies, the days so hot he did not want to be crowded by the walls of his home.
Lately, he kept thinking about his first lover. A man named Daniel; strong, tall, with a wide frame, light brown hair, stunning teal-colored eyes. They did not get along at first. No... he thought Daniel would be the first man he ever killed. Instead, he was the first he ever laid with. The first he ever loved. And now, he was dead.
He dreamed about him often throughout the years, but never more than now. As his mind clouded and he questioned whether he would live or die; whether he would even have control over his mind at all before long, he could only reminisce about the good things... the things he wanted to experience again, one last time. Dreaming was his solace indeed. He never minded Remnant -- it allowed him to reach back and live only the good, like he could travel through linear time. He could feel Daniel's arms again. He could feel his breath, and hear his voice. What soothing words he spoke, once upon a time.
"I miss you," he whispered out into the breeze. From behind him, the man wrapped his arms around his sides, pulling him in tight as he pressed his lips to the nape of his neck.
"I know, love."
"So much..."
"I know. Let's spend the night together... okay?"
He breathed, hard, sniffling as he restrained his tears. The tradewinds breezed past him, almost through him. In his arms, he felt so weightless, and secure. "Okay," he said back. "Yeah... okay."
