Raising a brow briefly as the fancy woman admits to lying raises a suspicious air around the amber-eyed thief. While it is true that for most professions, trust is a limited resource that is earned through hard merit and loyalty above all else, Luna would have minimal trust to give in the first place, and the same with Jared.
“That is fair, besides, too much of a hassle if the guards are involved. Grudges are more common, especially in any work, but even so, I would be careful if I were you. Not everyone is friendly or neutral; some would strike first and ask questions later. That is a friendly tip that you should keep in mind.”
The thief takes a moment to push his back off the wall he was leaning on and move away from Luna, slightly satisfied with the outcome. There were a few things that the thief could learn, and being able to round out his weaknesses while bolstering his critical skills, he was pleased to know. However, it was an exchange in mutual terms, and that was all that mattered.
“While I may not be able to teach you magic about false imagery, I can teach you more practical skills; Searching for opportunities, evasion of those who seek to find you, trespassing in places that most people would dare to avoid. Subtlety requires finesse, control and thinking ahead, qualities I believe you have, so let's make this our first lesson - If you can find me again before the moon rises at its peak, then I will have a few more pieces of advice you can work on.
Until then, I have some work that needs to be done. I will give you a hint, however;
Seek for a place where the rats and birds meet; when the rain patters, waves crash beneath, yet everything remains bare. Where the commonfolk do not tread and where all scoundrels fly freely at the Thieves’ Highway. There you will find me;.”
The Alisitan Draedan couldn’t help but grin for a moment, flashing his pearly white teeth as he channelled his divinity over his clothing, putting up his hood to obscure his face as the colour and texture of his dress started to meld and mimic the surrounding environment, acting like camouflage with his footsteps, being barely audible, almost silent as his refined ether would coat the base of his boots as it stifles the squeaks that it would make.
It was clear that the thief intended to remain cryptic; if one truly wished to learn the art of thievery and underground tactics. Of course, one must at least know what the Thieves’ Highway is. It wouldn’t be hard to figure out if one was already in this line of work, but this was a test to see if Luna wanted to learn from Jared and all the secrets he had to offer.
