Luna felt a swirl of excitement and nervousness as she prepared for her lunch date with Infierno. She stood in front of her modest wardrobe, carefully considering her outfit choices. "I want to look alluring, but not too provocative," she thought to herself. After some contemplation, she selected a delicate, flowing dress in a soft shade of blue that complemented her eyes. The dress had a hint of daring with its low neckline and exposed shoulders, but its elegant design kept it from being too provocative.

Luna then moved to her vanity, where she sat down and began to apply her makeup with practiced precision. "I should go for a subtle, natural look," she mused, applying a light touch of makeup to enhance her already beautiful features without appearing overly done up. She lightly dusted her cheeks with a rosy blush, and her eyes were accentuated with a hint of shimmering eyeshadow and a fine stroke of eyeliner. A soft pink gloss adorned her lips, completing her flawless makeup.

As she brushed her long hair, Luna allowed herself to daydream about the upcoming date. "What will we talk about? Will we laugh and have a good time? Could there be something more between us?" she wondered. With a final stroke of her brush, Luna decided to leave her hair down, cascading over her shoulders in soft waves that framed her face.

She then moved to her modest jewelry collection, selecting a pair of delicate silver earrings and a matching pendant necklace that rested gently against her collarbone. "Infierno is a soldier, so he might not be used to opulence. I should keep it understated yet elegant," she reasoned.

With a final glance in the mirror, Luna deemed herself ready for the date. She took a deep breath, steadying her nerves, and reminded herself, "I'm a skilled mentalist. I can navigate the intricacies of social interactions with ease. This date will be no different." As she stepped out of her room, Luna felt confident that it would be a good day.

Infierno walked back to the barracks after training already feeling his nerves. He knew he needed to look his best for someone so pretty, so he spent extra time getting ready. He took a quick bath to get rid of grime of the day's training. He combed his hair and trimmed his beard.

He dug through his chest of belongings, searching for something suitable to wear. He settled on a clean, uniform. He did not have many quality clothing pieces that were unrelated to the military. They were practical and comfortable, but also showed off his build. He strapped on his boots, checked himself in the mirror and nodded in satisfaction.

Infierno knew that Luna would appreciate a thoughtful gesture, so he decided to bring her a small bouquet of wildflowers he had picked during his walk earlier. He carefully arranged them in a makeshift vase, and tied a piece of cloth that was supposed to be a ribbon around it to make it look presentable.

He felt a flutter in his stomach as he thought about the evening ahead. He wasn't sure where they would go or what they would do, but he knew that he wanted it to be special. It was because she had made him desire her so much. He did not know she was capable of doing so yet.

They were meeting in the city so it was only natural that he headed that way. He caught a ride on the back of a fellow soldier’s mount.

Luna arrived at the bustling tavern, the warm light from the windows spilling onto the cobblestone street outside. She paused at the entrance, scanning the lively interior for any sign of Infierno. The tavern was filled with the din of laughter and lively conversation, the air thick with the scent of roasted meats, ale, and the unmistakable aroma of smoke. The wooden beams overhead creaked with the weight of the years, and the worn flagstone floor beneath her feet bore the marks of countless patrons who had passed through these doors.

As Luna stood there by the entrance, her heart began to race with anticipation. She could feel the tension in her muscles, the knot in her stomach that formed as she was about to meet Infierno. She found herself wondering if he was as nervous as she was, and if he shared the same swirling mix of excitement and uncertainty that filled her chest.

Luna's fingers toyed with the hem of her dress. Her eyes darted around the room, taking in the faces of the patrons as they laughed, drank, and shared stories with one another. She couldn't help but wonder what kind of stories she and Infierno would share in the future and whether they be filled with joy and laughter or pain and heartache. It seemed that for now, he was not here yet. So she simply waited. She assumed he was coming from the edge of the city so it made sense for there to be some sort of delay.

Infierno felt panic rising as he realized he might be running late for his date with Luna. He had lost track of time during training and he knew in his guts she was punctual. Infierno picked up the pace, trying to make up for lost time as he made his way to the tavern. Despite his best efforts, he arrived a few minutes late and he felt guilty for making Luna wait.

Infierno arrived at the tavern, feeling a little out of sorts. He had been looking forward to this date with Luna all day, but he had gotten caught up in training and lost track of time. He saw her waiting for him at the front of the tavern, and he hurried over to her.

"Sorry I'm late. Training ran a little long."

Luna was breathtakingly beautiful, with eyes as deep and rich as the night skyt. Her smile was warm and inviting, and Infierno found himself constantly drawn to her radiant presence.

Infierno took her hand and led her inside. They found a table in a quiet corner of the tavern, away from the rowdier patrons. Infierno ordered a bottle of wine for them to share, feeling grateful for the chance to relax and unwind after a long day.

"So how was your day?" he asked, taking a sip of wine. The wine that Infierno ordered for them was a rich, deep red color, with a complex aroma that hinted at notes of berries, oak, and spices. The first sip was smooth and full-bodied, with a lingering aftertaste that left a warm sensation in the mouth.

Luna watched as Infierno hurried over, his panic evident. She figured he had been busy, and she appreciated his dedication to his craft, but the disappointment was clear on her face. As he approached her, apologizing for his tardiness, she took in his appearance and was once again struck by his striking features and magnetic presence.

“Not a big deal, let’s go inside,” she’d say with a curt smile.

Luna smiled softly as she responded to Infierno's question, "My day was alright, though quite busy. I have so many ideas and plans swirling around in my head that it's been difficult to find any free time for myself." She took a deep sigh, feeling the weight of her responsibilities momentarily pressing down on her, and then leaned back in her seat, her eyes meeting Infierno's.

"To be honest, the reason you caught my eye initially was your exceptional mastery of fire magic. I couldn't help but be captivated by the way you wielded such immense power so effortlessly, causing destruction and chaos with a mere flick of your wrist. It was both awe-inspiring and slightly terrifying."

Luna paused for a moment, her eyes twinkling with a hint of vulnerability. "You see, I am a mage as well, but my abilities pale in comparison to yours. I've been working diligently to improve my skills, but I don’t think my magic will ever be able to cause destruction at that level.” She was glad she got that out of the way, as she’d remembered the fire coating the man’s sword better than she’d remembered his face.

Infierno was surprised by Luna's comment about his fire magic. He had always proud of his ability to command the element of fire, but he had never expected it to be such a draw for someone like Luna. He raised an eyebrow in surprise

"Is so? I didn't think my magic would be such a focal point for you."

As he spoke, Infierno had to wonder why Luna was telling him this. Was she really implying that she wanted his magic? Did she know the risks involved in wielding such powerful magic? Infierno had seen firsthand the destruction that could be wrought by an inexperienced soldier.

Infierno leaned back in his chair and studied Luna's face carefully.

"Why do you want to know about my magic? Do you have some sort of interest in it? You do realize the dangers of wielding such power, don't you? One wrong move, and it could mean the end for you and anyone around you."

He paused for a moment, considering Luna's response. He didn't want to come across as confrontational, but he also didn't want to give away too much of his power to someone he hardly knew.

"I'm flattered by your interest in my magic, Luna, but I think it's important that we take things slow. I don't want to put you or anyone else in danger by showing off my powers. The last thing I want to do is kill a pretty woman like you."

Infierno's mind raced as he tried to think of a way to change the subject. He didn't want to scare Luna off, but he also didn't want to give her the wrong idea about his powers. As he looked into her eyes, he realized that he had some leverage in this situation. Perhaps he could use Luna's fascination with his magic to his advantage, but he needed to be careful. He didn't want to reveal too much too soon.

Luna's eyes widened slightly at Infierno's reaction to her comment about his fire magic. She could see the surprise on his face and sensed his hesitation, but she also detected a hint of pride in his voice when he spoke about his abilities. "I am quite aware that I came across as too forward," she said, her voice gentle but sincere. "I'm genuinely curious about your magic because it's something I've never been able to do myself. I'm well aware of the dangers and the responsibility that comes with wielding such power."

She paused for a moment, her gaze never leaving his face, as she considered her next words carefully. "I don't expect you to teach me or reveal all your secrets. I simply find it fascinating and can't help but be drawn to it. I understand the need for caution, and I appreciate your concern for my safety."

Luna smiled softly, hoping to ease any tension that had arisen between them. "As for taking things slow, I agree. I'm not looking to rush into anything, either. I believe it's important to get to know someone better before diving into deeper subjects… but I wanted to make it clear that what I’m interested in is your magical mark. I know it’s got the ability to kill me if you gave it to me, but I’m in need of firepower to achieve my goals. The question is, what’s it going to take for you to give it to me?” she wondered if she was coming off as a lunatic.

Infierno looked at Luna, taking in her words and the sincerity in her voice. He understood her curiosity and her need for more power to achieve her goals. He was touched by her interest in his magical mark, and he appreciated her willingness to be cautious.

"I'm glad you understand the responsibility that comes with this kind of power. It's not something I would share lightly."

He paused for a moment, thinking about what it would take for him to share his magical mark with her.

"I think the most important thing for me is trust. I need to know that you would use this power wisely and for the right reasons. It's a dangerous thing, and I wouldn't want it to fall into the wrong hands or be misused."

Infierno looked into Luna's eyes, trying to gauge her reaction to his words.

"I also think that it's important for us to get to know each other better, like you said. We should spend more time together, learn about each other's strengths and weaknesses, and find out if we can truly work together."

He smiled softly, mirroring Luna's earlier expression.

"I'm not saying it's impossible, but I want to be careful. We can start by spending time together and talking more about our goals and how we can help each other. And maybe, in time, if I feel that we've built a strong enough bond and I can trust you with this power, then we can discuss sharing my magical mark."

Luna couldn’t figure out whether she should be furious or not. She’d set aside her day to meet with this guy and he was refusing her? She had to calm herself with deep breaths. It was easier when she thought about how crazy she must have sounded. It was hard to convey her need for power and not sound crazy. She didn’t really go around telling people that she had people she wanted to murder.

"I appreciate your honesty, Infierno, and I understand your concerns. Trust is something that should be earned, not given away freely. I'm willing to invest the time and effort into building that trust with you." She met his gaze, her own eyes reflecting her sincerity and determination.

"We can take things slow and get to know each other better. I want to learn about your past experiences, your knowledge, and your aspirations. And I'll share mine with you as well. It's important for both of us to know that we can rely on each other, and that we have each other's best interests at heart." Luna offered a genuine smile.

As Luna eagerly dug into her food, she seized the opportunity to learn more about the man across from her. Between bites, she looked up at him curiously and asked, "So, how long have you been in the military? Do you do anything outside of work? Other than go on dates, I mean." She giggled, figuring she already knew the answer to all these questions.
