A Serpent in the Garden

Koto found himself far from Alfsos, near a small farming village in the Threndas area. He had received a request to quell beast ravaging livestock on the farmlands, most likely wolves or rabid dogs of some sort. It was a simple enough job, and he wasnt going to turn down the money. It was also a good way to help start spreading his name within Atinaw.
It was also a chance to sharpen and hone the Flowing Dragon style, which was more than enough to gain the excitement and enthusiasm of the viper, as he was in his element when it came to killing. What bothered him, however, was the lack of information given to him. He didn't like walking in blind to any situation, not while that bitch was still out there, plotting his demise. He was living a life paranoid, waiting for that vile witch to strike.
As he traveled to the farm he was to be clearing out, he was reminded of his homeland, the beauty of the countryside reminiscent of the fields of Karnor. Approaching the Getlock Homestead, Koto took a moment to call a friend from the abyss. Quickly he channeled the needed amount of aether to summon a Qumado'harroc, performing the Ritual of Reminiscence. A pool of black water formed behind him, a glowing amber pupil in the center of it, blinking as the archetype came into existence.
Patting the summon as it nuzzled up on Koto in an aggressive manner, the young man was approaching the gate where the owner of the farm greeted him. Thank you so much for coming good sir, I... he began though he was greatly startled when Koto's summon came into view, falling over his own feet. "No need for alarm, this is my pet, it will make sure to rid you of your beast issue." he affirmed with a light chuckle, helping the man up off the floor.
The farmer's family watched from within the family home the owner and Koto approached the fields. As they did Koto noticed that the man was nervous, on edge, which meant that these beast attacks were weighing heavily on this man and his family. It explained why he was so delighted to see Koto when he arrived. He would put this farmer and his family's worry to rest that was for sure.
Im very grateful for your aid in this matter. Your handler said this kind of work was right up your alley. he chimed, his eyes looking to Koto with hope in them. "I assure you, I'm more than capable of handling your issue as quickly as possible." he assured, bowing as a sign of respect to him, before rising. We just want to be able to sleep at night without having fear our cattle, or worse my family are in danger. he said, motioning to the edge of the farm.
Looking it was obvious that they were dealing some predatory creature; wolves, bears? Something of the sort. Venturing out into where the cattle grazed, Koto instructed the owner to return inside with his family, and not to come out until he said it was safe. With another wave of his hand, it was lathered in aether, and a stern command came from the viper's lips.
"Eradicate any threat to the cattle." he commanded, the Qumado'harroc screechingly clicking in acknowledgment of the order. Some time passed as both the summoner and his creature waited, vigilant for any signs of trouble. He was beginning to think this was a waste of time when his archetype began to become agitated, staring in a specific direction where the forest met the edge of the owner's land.
The sound of encroaching growls filled the air, and the cattle began to flee given sensing the incoming danger. Soon wolves began to emerge from the forest line and give chase to the fleeing cattle, but chasing them was the Qumado'harroc tear any wolf it got close to apart. Koto wasnt going to allow his pet to have all the fun, as he too prepared to enter the fray.
Remember the technique he learned from the Flowing Dragon Style he calmed his mind, allowing himself to enter a trance-like state. Soon he found himself standing atop an endless expanse of crystal blue waters, his hand resting on the hilt of Kusanagi and poised for combat. Emerging around him were watery effigies of wolves snarling and pacing around him like actual wolves.
With a slow and even breath, he lunged forward, his body turning so his blade would arc cutting down the first watery apparition, his eyes focusing on the next two to come at him, Koto slicing them down in a leaping curved arc that carved a watery circle in the air, as he used the Slicing Current technique against them. Pushing forward he glided across the surface as more came at him, and his blade dancing about as if music played in the background of the conflict.
As he readied to catch the next wave, the watery wolves dissipated, which snapped him back into reality, a satisfied sigh escaping his lips as he looked at the dead wolves in the area. Looking around he could hear his Qumado'harroc as it clicked and screeched, tearing into what was left of the wolves it had to fight.
Suddenly another figure came from out of the brush, one much larger and vicious than the others, this wolf bearing a scar across its face and abdomen. It was a beautiful animal to see, but an intimidating force to go up against. Immediately he extended his hand, a minimal amount of aether summoned to issue the order. "Defend me and kill this beast!" Koto shouted, the warped sea demon scuttling rapidly to Koto's aid, firing a blast of abyssal energy at the large hound before leaping and latching onto it.
The young summoner took that moment to get himself together and catch his breath quickly. Admits the thudding and snarls or the two beasts grappling with one another, Koto gave the final command, once his composure returned to him. "Hold it still!" he called, using the ritual of unification to ensure his needs were met and he could deliver the final blow.
As ordered the Qumado'harroc gripped around the large wolf with its gelatinous body, tentacles and prongs latching onto it and then a few tentacles planting themselves into the ground like an anchor. The wild wolf tried to break free, but to no avail, only to catch the sharp edge of the summoner's blade to the side of its face. The initial strike should have killed the beast, but it was still putting up a fight. Ripping the weapon from its temple, Koto spun around, putting all his strength into another strike to the right side of the beast aiming for an internal organ this time.
With a loud thud, the wild wolf ceased moving, Koto kicking it once for good measure and then going to his summon to check it for injuries. After a quick assessment, he was relieved to see his pet unharmed, granted its body allowed for such primitive attacks to fail. The Qumado'harroc let out clicking sounds or triumph as Koto sent it away to the otherworld in a pool of black mists.
Sighing in relief he ran to the home of the farm owner, checking on them to make sure they weren't hurt or killed by any wolve who could have been missed in the slaughter. He was relieved that no one was harmed in the process, the farmer and his family gratefully thanking Koto for his services,
He found that the children of the farm owner latched onto his legs, hugging him and praising him for his efforts. Whereas he would have kicked the little ones off of him, he instead sighed and embraced the young ones. These people were defenseless out here given where they decided to make their farm.
They insisted he stay and join them for dinner, a token of their appreciation for his help. He didnt see any way to deny them, so he accepted. To his surprise, the misses of the homestead cook really cook up amazing food. He was reminded of the meals his mother used to make growing up. It was one thing that reminded him of home, and for a brief moment, he longed to return to Kalzasi.
However, he was here in Atinaw, and he needed to become familiar with different lands and their people. When the meal was over, Koto graciously bowed to the family and set out to return back to Alfsos. "Seems like everything went smoothly, no casualties I presume?" Sojin inquired stepping from behind a tree. "What's the matter? I do know what restraint is, and I got to kill a pretty large wolf." he hissed, though the look on Sojin's face was far more alarming.
Looking in the direction of his eyes he saw it, as many thoughts began to flood his head. There stabbed in the front door of the homestead was a dagger, a note pinned to the entrance. Koto could only look to Sojin in both confusion and shock. "What is that Sojin?"
