History
To grasp the full understanding of Lydia one would first need to delve into the veiled history of House Sylvanis and the people of Sil-Elaine. A long forgotten stretch of ancestor intricately woven into the annals of history; records that even the two family's the young woman descended from do not fully comprehend. Tales of misfortune, dark dealings and connections that some would consider as old as the Gods themselves. Yet, through countless years, several wars and fallen empires even a lifetime would be to o short for any to ascertain the proclivity of ancient peoples. Stories untold and like most else, unknown and lost to the passage of time. Stories best saved for another time, as Lydia is only a small tatter of a single page in the book of her ancestory.
Lydia was born into an esteemed merchant family, so far the only daughter of House Sylvanis. Both Lydia's father and her mother were mixed-bloods. Her mother raised in a quaint village within Sil-Elaine while her father was brought up by a down-trodden Daravinic family. It would only be recently after the two met and began contemplating the idea of children that her father would see success turning the unnoticed family name into a merchandising empire. An undertaking that would be swiftly halted by the arrival of Lydia.
Like her attitude would later reflect Lydia's birth was a troubling inconvenience, as her birth was unforeseen and brought about during a trip to Sil-Elaine to see distant family. Her father, tied up in his buisness affairs would be planning to use the opportunity to extend the reach of the family enterprise. Something that would not come for a few more years, instead pulling the boat to the nearest elven port the moment the magnitude of their situation set in. It was here Lydia was raised for her first few years, unknowing of much of her surroundings in her early life as she would only truly experience Sil-Elaine for a brief period.
Before the family moved back to Daravin Lydia would have began learning a handful of language. Her mother seeing to teaching her Silvain at a young age while both parents shared in an effort to teach her common. Her studies furthered upon arriving in Daravin where her father could teach her more, enlisting tutors and associated to aid in her guardianship with access to the much appreciated resources the family had acquired upon returning home. While it was strenuous her earliest memories would be of Daravin and it's shores, beginning to awaken to a bustling world around her as she grew within the city. Challenged at every turn as she slowly began to see herself enveloped into the a life of nobility, albeit in a lesser sense of the word. The household were not kings or even dukes, more akin to the living of eccentric knighthood with the affordance of luxuries that only coin could buy.
Early in her life she was very much housebound, studying while sheltered more out of circumstance than necessity or demand. Her parents coming and going along with several influential family friends and servants would see her blossom into a promising member of the family, yet so many differing lifestyles and views would likewise see her become a bit unruly when her mind tended to run astray.
