Appearance
Jolynn Sil'Norai is a slim, girl with ivory cream-colored skin and white hair. She like light colors as it tends to make her stand out in the dark and dirty world and fashion that goes against the cultural trends. She dresses based on her mood, light and bright when she is happy or playful to dark colors when she is upset. She has a bit of her father's Hyr'Norai glow to her skin without the powers that come with it. She also got his dislike for bright light and tends to wear hats and stay out of direct sunlight.
When working she wears clothing that is colored so she can fit in with the workers including pants, boots, and gloves. The problem is there is always something that makes her stand out (her signet ring and quality of her clothes) even when she is trying to "fit in".
Personality
Intelligent * Adventurous * Perfectionist * Sneaky * Selfish * Shy
Like many of her kind Jolynn is an introverted worrier. She is smart enough to know she needs to learn more about things and a perfectionist thinking she should do things perfectly the first time. When taught something, she works hard to learn the material and pushing herself.
Her over all view is that Life is a game, though somewhat fatalistic, only the best win. She is determined to be the best at what she does.
Among friends she may let her guard down and laugh and play. She loves to watch a good fight as long as she is not in the center of it.
When it comes to exotic foods, Jolynn is a bit reluctant. Food for her is more functional in nature.
Like many young women, she is trying to live independent of her family's status and show she is an asset to her family.

History
Jolynn really did not know her parents more than in passing. She was an element of pride, a child born into the family. Quickly replaced with other adventures and experiences. So, her Grandparents and Great Aunt were left the task of raising her. Not a minor task for older people.
"Jolynn, remember what is being done to the others," Her Great Aunt would say as another book was shoved before her. Jolynn did not understand. Her kind being killed for sport. She was taught that knowledge, skill, and most importantly magic was only ticket to having a real life. Like most young girls she wanted to paint and do crafts. She wanted to play and have fun. She wanted to make beautiful glass animals to run barefooted through flowers. Not to sit in the walls of a small old manor house behind an iron fence.
Jolynn's first understanding of the problems of magic was driving past piles of dead bodies of people who failed the initiation test.
"That will happen to you," her great aunt said then added, "unless you work hard on your studies."
She did rebel at times. She even escaped to explore the city to find the place to be exciting and cruel at the same time.
As she grew, she learned that her family and position were part of some cruel game. One mistake and the entire family would fall from grace and lose their place, power, and wealth. You had to careful and at times cruel. For Jolynn the problem is this game bothers her.
Being the "fourth" child, expectations of her position in the family's future was to be married off or traded for an alliance. Her move to explore life was not a supirise.
