General Appearance

Arnos is a rather waifish and androgynous individual with a caramel complexion and the most adorable freckles. He has brown curly hair that is parted by a pair of four-inch long, wicked-looking demonic ears. Additionally, a large pair of thick, spiraled horns sprouts from the sides of his forehead and jut forward nearly six inches away from his head. All in all though, if unfurled, these horns have a grand total of thirteen inches in length. His hands appear very demonic, tipped with sharp claws that seem to have replaced his fingernails. Naturally, there also exists a narrow tail ending in a spaded tip that curls down from his waist. All in all, this tail reaches a total of 36 inches in length.

Clothing and Accessories

His long sleeved, black hide jacket covers him to his groin and is constantly unbottoned. The sleeves of his jacket are a little wide and reach down to well below his wrists, they're decorated with a decorative band at the edges. The jacket has a deep v-neck which reveals part of the relatively simple shirt worn below it and is worn with a small rope belt, which is held together by a small belt buckle. The rope belt is almost entirely a functional addition. His pants are simple and quite narrow and reach down to his leather boots. The boots are made from a pretty simply leather.

Personality

ENTJ - The Commander

Arnos is an inquisitive and charismatic individual that embodies what some might consider to be the personality of a natural born leader. While he might not know the most effective ways to convince or lead at the moment, the ruthless level of rationality that he often displays allows for some to see him in such a light. Given his rather outgoing personality, it is a wonder that he isn't more demanding of others. There are times in which he might seem rude but that is truly never the intention. If anything, it is simply that he is blunt and honest to a fault. This much is the case for most scenarios with the rare exception. That exception being in the case of survival. For the sake of ensuring that he isn't thrown into the same situation as his mother, Arnos is careful to lie when it is what he deems to be necessary. All in all, Arnos is an efficient, energetic, and strong-willed person that refuses to allow himself to fail in his life long goal. He may seem stubborn, intolerant, impatient, and ruthless at times but this is all for what he deems to be the greater good.

Backstory

4598-4622
Arnos Gleren was born on the 1st of Ash in the year 4598 to two lovely Moroi individuals known as Sarvari and Karrakas, alongside his beautiful twin sister Zelith. It was shortly after the Moroi as a whole had come to Atharen that both he and his sister were born. This was within the Temple of Kyrkolax, located within their hometown of Nurin. Hoping that this land would be safe from the terrors of the Outsider, Arnos' parents had decided that this place would ultimately be their home. Things were peaceful for a time as the Gleren's had settled into the land but as is the norm, such a peace couldn't last. It was only a few days after the twins' first birthday that the Guild had caught wind of Sarvari's aptitude in magic. Forced with the option to either join the Guild of Radenor or to be exiled from the land, Sarvari had opted to do what she thought would ensure the best life for her family. She had chosen to leave her family in the care of her husband whilst doing all that she could to keep the Guild away from her family from within.

Growing up without a mother is no easy thing for any child. Consider the fact that Arnos and his twin sister were solely going to be raised by their father, whom had no real knowledge of Atharen outside of what he had learned in the past year, and one could come to understand why it is that things were rather difficult for the twins growing up. Having to live off of the funds that Sarvari could send until the kids were old enough to stay home on their own, the Gleren family had gone without a great many things. There were days in which they would have a difficult time acquiring food and days in which they couldn't afford medication. The necessities that one must have to live a relatively peaceful life were far from sight in the first six years that the twins had been alive.. Thankfully this wouldn't last forever and the twins were far too young to realize that this wasn't how things should realistically be. Upon turning six, the twins would be shipped off to school for a portion of the day whilst their father would head out to work, taking the time to secure the funds that the family would need to afford these basic needs. Compared to how much their mother had been sending, their fathers pay was exceedingly meager... At least they were able to secure anything though. And at least they weren't living out on the streets.

Having finally obtained the capacity to go to school, Arnos had chosen to take every advantage that the opportunity had afforded him. The young Moroi would spend all of his time studying up on this world of theirs, learning things that he could take back to his father and ultimately paving a way forward for the entirety of their family. If at least one of the twins could learn the ways of this foreign land than at least they could ensure that bad things would no longer pursue them. The Gleren's couldn't risk losing another family member to some arbitrary law or cause. They had to mold themselves to this world that they were now in and find ways to settle for the future. Feeling as though the fate of the family was on his own little shoulders, Arnos would be sure to spend every waking moment learning about this world and it's people. Nights would be spent in the library, pouring over tomes, or even reaching out to friends. Days would be spent in school and often time at work alongside his father. There was no time to play games or simply be a child. No.. If this family was going to stick together, Arnos was going to have to grow up fast.

The next eight years would go by in the blink of an eye and before Arnos had known it, he was taking up the mantle of the working man in the house. At the age of fourteen, Arnos' father had become rather sickly. Due to the fact that the family simply couldn't afford to take Karrakas to any sort of doctor, Arnos had decided to leave school behind and take up a job. He would ultimately go on to become a Scribe that transcribed texts from Silvain to Common. He was left with a basic key that would allow for him to translate the letters but not necessarily the words. This was a rather arduous task for a teen but he was left with very little choice. Oddly enough, the only script that the settlement of Nurin was having translated during the time were texts from Sil-Elaine. Over the years of doing this, Arnos would begin to pick up a few things here and there about the language. It wasn't enough to become fluent in it but it at least managed to get him to simple conversationals!!

Having obtained a job whilst his sister had attended school and his father had to stay at home, Arnos would spend the next six years doing more or less the same thing. Each day would become a monotonous task of transferring contents from one page to another. Translating conversations without actually being able to fully understand everything that was being said. Coming home to take care of his father while using the money that his mother would send to pay off the medication that his father had needed. Eventually his sister would finish her basic schooling and go on to become a dancer to pay the bills but even that was barely keeping them afloat. As unfortunate as it was, his fathers medication was simply too expensive. This feeling of not being able to overcome such a thing would eventually take its toll on Arnos. It would leave him feeling inadequate and as though he was unworthy of the love that his family had attempted to give him. In time, this would cause him to bounce through a few relationships. Once, at seventeen, with a human man named Rodney. Another time at nineteen, with another man by the name of Alexander. And ultimately a third time with a woman named Alexis at the age of twenty one. None of these relationships would work out for the man. In the case of Rodney, the man was simply too intimidated by the potential that Arnos had. Rodney was too insecure and the relationship simply couldn't work out like that. For Alexander, it was the fact that Alexander had been looking for something a little less conventional. And as for Alexis? Well Alexis simply found that Arnos was too busy for a relationship. After having his heart broken so many times, whether it be by those broken relationships or the ways in which his father had been decaying away, Arnos was simply ready to give it all up. To succumb to the darkness that he could feel washing over him... Before such a thing could occur though, Sarvari would finally manage to find a way back to her family. It was no longer than a week but that week had meant the world to the Gleren family. After years of service, Sarvari had finally managed to convince those in charge of her to allow for her to visit her family. It was apparent that her husband was approaching death and as such, she had been permitted to visit for a short time, albeit with her company of mages alongside her.

During the week in which Sarvari had been with her family, she had managed to secure a few hours of alone time with Arnos. The two had a lot to catch up on and yet that moment would never come. Instead of having the mother-son time that Arnos had longed for for so long, Sarvari would take the time to explain a few things to her son. She would go on to tell him how much she had loved him and how she had wished to come for so long. She would speak on the matters of the Outsider that had destroyed their home planet and how she was working to ensure that such a being would never find its way to Atharen. How she had attempted to warn the Guild about the being and how there was never any follow up to it. As far as she was concerned, things were never going to change at the rate in which they were moving. With that having been the case, she would have no choice but to rely on the next generation to take care of things in the event that she fails. She had heard from Karrakas how responsible Arnos had been over the years and ultimately decided that he was the one whom she was going to entrust such a monumentus task upon. It is for this very reason that she would take the time, during those few hours, to initiate him in the ways of Mentalism. Once the Mark of Control had been bestowed upon him, she would make him swear to never use it in public until he had had it under his control. He would have to swear to her that he would learn everything that he could about such magics before he ever made use of it. That he would keep such magics hidden until that point or unless absolutely necessary. After he had swore to her that he would uphold these things, she would take the time to heal his father via Druidism before heading back to the tower in which she was to be held by the Guild. Unbeknownst to Arnos, the Guild is less than thrilled about the miraculous healing of his father. In fact, the Guild suspects that such a feat was accomplished via magic but has no definitive proof. That being the case, they have chosen to do nothing for the time being. Such suspicions can prove dangerous though.. Especially considering that their eye may now be lingering upon Arnos himself.

With his father healed, his mother having returned to the Guild, and his sister working wherever she could, Arnos would return to his regular every day life. Well.. For the most part. Everything would remain the same with the exception of the fact that he was now a mage. Branded by Ether. And the fact that he now had an oath to uphold to his mother for the sake of his people. He would return to work and spend most of his days translating texts and spending time with his family much like before during the day but at night.. At night was when he would take the time to research these new abilities of his and plot how he was going to avenge his people. While it may not appear all that noticeable on the surface, a major shift in Arnos' personality would take place in the years since this had all happened. It was up to him to see how he would now change this world for the better.. To ensure that his preparations against the Outsider take place.

Arnos' Mark of Mentalism was obtained at the age of twenty three. It was taught to him by his mother, albeit briefly, and under the particular condition of him learning as much about magic as he could before putting his magic to the test. Additionally, he is under no circumstances to use his magic until he is prepared, lest he be subjected to joining the Guild just as she had. Arnos' Mark of Control appears as a Rorschach image, in the shape of a landscape, and is located at the back of his neck.

Novice: At this level, the Weaver begins with Compel and Impel, and may expand their Weave up to five feet in width and height. Any usage of Mentalism is fairly draining at this point, and the Novice typically progresses by practicing the various applications of Compel and Impel, as well as learning of the four basic Concepts of the magic, and putting them into practice.

Compel: This ability is acquired at Novice. By surrounding an object or person with the Weave, the Mentalist may pull that thing toward them by pulling in the Weave itself. This usually appears as if a section of space is being interrupted by nearly transparent, purple, crystal-like glitches in reality, as the object is compelled towards the Mentalist. At Expert, all objects within the Weave will be pulled, though they can be filtered out at-will. As is the case for many abilities within Mentalism, the limitations and restrictions can be found in the Progression Tiers (Novice-Master). Compel is often viewed as one of Mentalism's most useful abilities, as it is -- more directly -- the ability to move the Weave and the contents within it, allowing levitation and other forms of telekinesis. Actually pulling in the Weave is not required.

Impel: This ability is acquired at Novice. Impel works the same as Compel initially, but rather than simply guiding an object surrounded by the Weave, the Weave catches that object within its tangible grasp before throwing it in the desired direction. This is typically used to push objects away, but in fact, it can be used to push objects towards the mage as well.

Traveler: The Moroi have an innate ability to navigate using stars and their constellations. They have an instinctive awareness of the direction of constellations relative to their own location, allowing them to always be able to determine their relative distance and direction. Because of this, they rarely become truly lost on long journeys. Description: Amara is an Ocicat with orange and brown fur. She is a rather calm cat that is aloof toward her owner, and will sit and stare when called, but won't always come. She does not pay any attention to strangers (but will allow herself to be touched if you can get her), and she dislikes other animals. Much like her owner, she's slightly intelligent and very crafty. She often gets exceptionally dirty and requires baths often; she will continue to use even a filthy litter box. She is moderately playful and can entertain herself, sometimes doing so by talking at her toys. Thankfully she's not a picky eater. Her favorite thing to eat happens to be fresh fish. She is a good climber and always sleeps in a high place. All in all, she is okay in the garden, but is not used to being on the street. One of her favorite things to do, unfortunately, is to knock things off of shelves and to then "groom" the carpet.
