BLESSINGS OF THE WORM
INTRODUCTION
Vivian's Mark of Malformity was forced on him by one of his johns as a fledgling whore in a brothel. A nightmarish experience has left him scarred, but ultimately able to empathize with creatures many ignore or see as lesser. Because his initiation was forced in the way of the golden tortoise beetle, Vivian has demonstrated an affinity with insects, worms, slugs, and flatworms. His mark will begin to align more and more with the likes of all that crawl, squirm, and chew in the soil, drawing Vivian closer to how he sees himself: unseen and disliked.
Vivian's mark is located in the middle of his back.
MUTATIONS
Blessing of the Moth - Journeyman
Vivian's twisting of sex and magic has gifted him with the insect world's lovely gift of pheromone wafting. Vivian can now unfurl a specialized set of organs from behind his tonsils, engorging them with blood and ether to lure in mages to mate. These organs will be roughly the shape as the Baphomet Moth (Creatonotos gangis) and be roughly 4" long, extending to either side of the corners of his mouth. This pheromone will reduce drastically after a range of 100ft, and only have a mildly intoxicating effect on those who smell it. Vivian, however, will be plunged into a blind, hungry heat, and be unable to speak or swallow while the signalling organs are exposed. Additionally he will become much more suggestible during this period, as he is effectively drunk off his own supply. Periods of stress, overstepping, and weakness will force his body to advertise itself as being receptive to a mate.
Benediction of the Wasp - Expert
Vivian's obsession with the life cycle of the ichneumoid wasp, particularly the Giant Ichneumon Wasp (Merarhyssa macrurus) has left him not with an Imprint but a close personal connection. The wasps' ability to lay eggs inside of a living host with a single strike from a needle-like ovipositor has enchanted him, and crawled its way deep into his mark. His mark will now give him the ability to turn his fingernails into similar ovipositors, injecting a hapless victim with eggs that will hatch and begin to eat the flesh and internal organs of its victim. The victim's critical organs will be saved for last, wasting away into nothing more than a bag of skin and bone as the worm-like children of the mage grow. In the final stages, after 45 days of suffering, nightmares, and feeling the maggots crawl around under the skin and between ribs...the victim's infestations will burst force through skin, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, anus, and urethra. Any exit that can be taken will. The worms will cocoon and emerge as wasps, two to three per victim depending on how many survived the process, and will instinctively seek out their mother...the mage that sent them.
The victim will need immediate medical assistance to survive the process, and subcutaneous injections of a strong anti parasite medication are recommended.
Cradle of the Worm - Master
Vivian's dedication to invertebrates has gifted him with one of the insect world's most common utilities; hermaphroditism. A functional womb has grown inside of Vivian, twisting and pushing his organs aside and fueling itself with his ether. Unlike mammalian wombs, it will be a twisted amalgam of human and insect. He will cycle through eggs the way slugs do; by laying thousands of infertile eggs once a season. His cervix will be protected by a nest of retractable human teeth; worthy mates will find themselves welcomed and even urged to reproduce with Vivian. Additional muscle control will allow him to encourage mates his body likes, gripping and sucking. Unworthy mates will have their intruding genitalia summarily shredded and consumed to fuel the womb. If Vivian is experiencing mageblight, this hunger may extend beyond the genitalia to the soft, nutrient rich internal organs of a failed mate. This womb shows a preference for powerful mages, but regular men with particularly strong or healthy genetics will be accepted. If Vivian is stressed, the likelihood of rejection increases.
Like the cruel mating practices of most insects, Vivian will either be sated or devour.
Vivian will only be able to be impregnated by humans, Sil'Norai, or half-elves. If properly impregnated, Vivian will carry the child for two full seasons. Accruing points of mageblight will increase the chances of a miscarriage. Any child birthed will be born normal.
