Personality

Jinx is serious, even stoic, but not joyless or without humor. Her jokes are delivered deadpan and her smiles are rare, all emotions but rage kept close to her heart. She takes most things into careful consideration, and by nature and nurture is not particularly trusting of people or their intentions, a keen quality for a bodyguard. Though quick to anger and just as quickly to calm, she rarely holds grudges. Jinx is usually content when left to her own devices, and abhors micromanagement. For most people, who tend to be unfamiliar with the Moroi, she appears like a perhaps-mutated Krish, and so she is accustomed to being met with fear and apprehension.

Appearance

An amalgam of Krish and Moroi traits, Jinx's green skin and black hair takes on purple-blue undertones. A pair of gold-ringed horns curl from her head and lay close to her scalp, and a two-foot long tail sprouts from her tailbone, though it lacks the characteristic Moroi tuft of hair. Her ears are long and serrated, and her yellow eyes feature amber irises and no pupil, and she has sharp cheekbones and clear skin that is only marred by scars or piercings.

Jinx prefers dark, fitted clothing, things that she can easily maneuver in and things that can keep her warm. She opts for coats over cloaks, and quality over style when she can afford it. She is practical in dress, and has little care for appearing anything other than intimidating.

History

In the brief months before the Krish attacked the Moroi, but after they had landed on Tarkus, Jinx was conceived between her Krish mother and her unknown Moroi father. She was born months after they had been chased off of the planet and inexplicably saved by a Krish Resoner, but she was a remnant of that brief period of peace, and was forced to work doubly hard for the approval of her mentors and her peers. But she persevered, and she was a good Krish soldier, fit to be worked to death like the rest of them. Her tail only provided a net benefit, allowing her to maneuver more treacherous pathways with ease, and even as a distraction when she fought. It was also a target to be pulled when she was teased, but bullying grew less frequent as she grew bigger, taller, stronger.

She does not speak of how she ended up on Lorien instead of with the rest of her people. Her capture and subsequent enslavement when she was barely an adult is a source of both shame and pain for her, especially as someone whose life was spent learning how to fight and how to defend herself. It was this shame that kept her from returning to Tarkus or even Krish territories once she was found and bought out by a man from Nivenhain named Luis Cambell.
