DETAILS
Ethan is a shocking man to encounter. Towering over normal humans, and gifted with a surprisingly strong physique, he at first appears intimidating. His wide hazel eyes and slightly curly black hair completely give his true nature; his eyes are wide and beseeching under a pair of thick brows, and his hair untamed and wild despite aggravating several barbers in Starkwayte. His muscular figure is his most distinctive feature, with generous pectoral muscles and thighs, and large hands the subject of much giggling in female groups throughout his school education. He wears an open and enthusiastic smile most often, thrilled to be learning new things about the world.

Ethan is very trusting. Trusting to a fault one might say. Having been raised in the strict hand of the Griscian Empire, he has always put his faith in the state to keep him and other citizens safe. The product of good education, and a middle-class family, Ethan has never truly had to fear for his life. He was raised a law abiding citizen, strictly encouraged to spread kindness to others by his doting mother and father, and with strong foundations toward justice. Ethan is playful, having been raised in a gaggle of four other brothers and one sister, all of whom he towers over. He likes using his strength to help others, not tower over anyone, though he enjoys throwing himself into battle for the sake of the righteous side…whether or not it happens to be a good idea.

HISTORY
Ethan was raised in Starkwayte, as the son of a homemaker and a mid-level engineer. His mother, Felicity Malaghas, married his father in an arrangement between their families. Though the pair hadn’t seen each other until the actual date of the marriage, fate was fortunate. Felicity fell deeply for Fergus Malaghas, and the pair had six children of which Ethan is the youngest. His four older brothers are all in school with aims to become arms of the state, while his sisters take after their mother toward a meek lifestyle.The Malaghas family believes in bettering oneself through the advancement of the culture around them, and all of the sons are expected to follow their father’s footsteps maintaining the great city to which they owe their birth. Their ascension in society will be dependent on their wit, intellectual growth, strength of rational thought, and sense of justice.
Consequently, Ethan had a very stable home life. Three meals a day, a basic education as was befitting a son of the middle class provided by the state, and a safe environment with which to grow and thrive.
However, during his twentieth birthday his mother took him aside and imparted a secret to her youngest: she was gifted in the art of Resonance. While becoming a mage was considered rather unladylike, and her aims redirected toward raising a family, Felicity wanted to pass down her gift to her son. She was selective, choosing Ethan for his wandering eyes and his desire for adventure. Out of all of her children, he would leave the Griscian Empire to find his fortune, and return to them a world-weary, wealthy man of the world. Ideally, with a woman and children on his arm.
Ethan agreed, wholeheartedly, and was taken to his father’s engineering office. Here, his mother had prepared a wide dish of sand, through which she could channel her ethereal vibrations and affix her power to his soul. It partially submerged him, covering up to his temples, and Felicity surrounded him with her power. She forged a Mark for him, based on a sweet song of adoration and loss, and began channeling the noise through the sand to Ethan. As the song rose to crescendo, Ethan appeared to be handling the change well…until it went a step too far on the final note. Ethan’s eardrums punctured, his delicate earbones breaking apart. Though he has survived Initiation, he was now deaf. The world was now blanketed in silence for him, forever.
Over the next two years, Ethan learned sign language to adapt to the world around him. Though a gifted singer, he rarely speaks, as the thrumming of his own voice in his ears irritates him.
Despite his disability, Ethan still wanted to fulfill the path his parents had set out for him. His father hired a caravan to take him as far as the iKingdom of Lorien, and step out to find his fortune, a wife, and make a better man out of himself for the good of his family.
