Appearance
Kayleth stands at a lean six feet. Unkempt white hair with silver highlights frames a sharp and angular face while dull grey-blue eyes sit on top of sunken bags from hours spent studying. Brass-framed spectacles sit on the bridge of a pointed nose as pursed thin lips stay in perpetual judgment. He has missed several meals for one reason or another resulting in a slender frame and lengthy arms paired with a torso shorter than his legs.
He commonly wears all black choosing to cover up as much as he can of himself and his lead veins. He owns several black pants some more formal than others but nothing opulent. The same could be said for his blouses. Most regularly he has some time of large shall or cape on to cover much of his body feeling the need for warmth more often than not. His appearance gives off an overall sense of superiority even if his station does not match a trait that comes naturally to the Sil'norai.
Personality
Keyleth has always been quiet and secretive with his actions and thoughts. Not out of personality but need. Living in the oppressive regime of the Dranoc tends to subdue one's personality. If thoughts could be read the Court of Dusk would surely drain him dry. His arrogance stems from his belief in intellectual superiority paired with a sharp tongue and a quick wit makes him one person you don't want to cross. Slow thinkers are met with at best, subdued impatience with sarcasm sprinkled in at the expense of the target. His aspirations are too big for his circumstance and smallmindedness bores him. He would much rather have a conversation about abstract concepts rather than concrete details.
He chooses to be quiet but his brain is far more active than he would let be believed. Naturally inquisitive about the world and individuals. Telling him to do something 'just because is an easy way to be dismissed. Some would describe him as cold or emotionally distant and they would be right to some degree but, more so due to an inherent need for self-independence. His own intuition always wins at the end of the day but he heavily weighs logic and objective facts. As a quick study, he tends to be perfectionistic which can be alarmingly wasteful in many ways. However, reshaping the world in his mind or solving problems is what he enjoys. His perfectionistic nature is truly shown all through his life as order and tidiness are one of his core tenets. Great imbalances in the world drive him into action much in the way an equation needs to be balanced to remain true so must the powers of the world and its multitude of systems must be balanced as well. He views the world like a giant board game of chess with moves and counter moves. Doing his best to calculate what the next few steps are going to be. The same can be said of conflict. He would prefer not to be directly involved however having a support planner role in most of his endeavors.
Kayleth is fascinated by the potential of Arcanacrags and their history of them. His firm belief is that they are the closest thing to the Gods that he can get to. Much like his people corrupted by Ether he feels that his natural born resistance to magithermal radiation and mageblight he feels a connection to them and hopes to find a way to purify them and his people somehow. He feels a pull to the Gods on the Path and burning to reconnect to the Elvin Gods for a grander sense of purpose in the world. His interests include architecture, cooking, Elvin ruins and relics, and innovation to name a few.

History
Kayleth was born and raised in Sil-ane under the chaos that was the Dranoc. For as long as he remembered he was alone. Being alone was not uncommon given his people's situation. Not everyone had it easy under The Court of Dusk. Regardless, he persisted slowly and calculated ways to improve his life and those around him with what little they were afforded. Having children was hit or miss for the Sil'norai despite their long lives and historical documents depicting lineage were rare. Kayleth, was of the opinion that the current existing Elves of Sil'Elaine chose their families unless they knew who they were beforehand.
His father and mother were one such circumstance. They survived the trip and lived humbly for several years in the 'great' city. Celebrated by the community for becoming pregnant in the first place. Sadly, all was not celebrated as his Mother died during childbirth. The following years were not kind to his Father despite the help of the community. Slowly, the corruption that plagued their people overtook him. Kayleth was left with no one in young adulthood and was faced with the harsh realities of learning how to take care of himself.
Over the coming years, he pursued knowledge with a passion. Wanting to be as well read on things as he could with the limited amount of research he was able to do or smuggle into the city. The ever-peering eyes of The Court of Dusk made it hard to make true advancements or learn things that would actually improve the lives of him or his people. Most of his knowledge was theoretical. Pieced together by an aggregate of notes and papers he could acquire.
One day a cloaked figure visited him in the dead of night. His first instinct was to hide for fear it was his time to be drained by the capriciousness of his "Master". However, he was surprised and perplexed when greeted by a cloaked human who bore an insignia he never saw before.
He introduced himself and explained where he came from and why he was there. A representative of Sheorlund's Royalty. According to their records, his Grandfather whom he did not even know had served their court as a Magical Mentor going back two generations. How they found Kayleth and knew for certain that he was the progeny of this man was a mystery that he would need to solve. He presented him with a letter that was written by his late Grandfather sealed with a symbol other than the kingdoms that he chose not to open at the moment. The messenger said he had been invited to meet with their Esquire but, only this once and another invitation would not be presented to him in the future. He had to choose then and now to travel a great distance to learn about the family he did not even know he had. It was explained to him that he would likely not be able to return if he chose to leave but, Kayleth jumped at the opportunity to escape the shackles he was born into with the promise to come back. With that choice made he packed up what little he owned or could carry and was whisked away in the dead of night.
Upon meeting with the Esquire he was given another letter with the same sigil on it as the previous one. Additionally, he was given a signet ring with a gem he was not familiar with in it but, was told it was how they knew he was the heir to Soll and his small posessions. It had taken a long journey for him to get there and he was always left with more questions than answers but as far as he could tell Soll had runaway decades ago if not longer in search of a better life and chose to serve the Kingdom here as a Mage. They did wonder if Kayleth too showed promise in the Arcane arts or had been initiated into any of them but life for Sil'norai didn't afford many opportunities for magical ventures. He held good standing to the crown and as such spent many years teaching several of the mages in the country and advising on some matters. He had a small house out in the middle of a large flat plane in Novilund that he was said to have died in due to old age. It was the crown's hope that Kayleth too would become a prominent member of their kingdom and contribute to it much as Soll had.
This is where Kayleth's story begins. A Grandfather with a past shrouded in enigma. A country oddly going to great lengths to foster his relocation and has no clue how to live anywhere outside of a city.
