Ford was many things, and one of them would always be that he’d be a good listener. Something he always enjoyed doing, among other things. Perking a brow at her response about how magic set her apart and how someone magical could easily overcome someone without magic. Her words brought a smile to his features, and he looked down at the table, nodding. With his gaze broken from her own, he looked at the table for a moment longer, his hand resting on it, lightly rubbing against the grain of the wood that was used for it.

When her question came regarding his plans for what would happen after the study was finished, his gaze lifted back to her and then above her to somewhere on the other side of the tavern as his gaze eased out of focus, and he thought for a moment. Taking a long, deep breath, he let it out through his nose and spoke matter-of-factly. “I have a lot of plans when I finish my study. First, I will need to compile my research and find examples supporting my collected evidence. That will take some time as well.”

Gently, his eyes came back down from their place across the tavern, and he looked at the woman he had been talking with and smirked. “Everyone is up to something, one way or the other. Some are interested in surviving their day. Others are looking to kill an enemy. Some look to usurp a kingdom and lead it differently. Others simply want war for war’s sake. What am I up to….” Rather than asking it, he had said it as he thought to himself, glancing down at the remnants of alcohol in his glass. Plucking it up, he swallowed down the last of it and set the glass aside. “I am curious in a world with many things that do not make sense. Answers, maybe? Adventure?”

Chuckling, he turned his left palm to face him as he studied his palm for a moment and placed it back on his muscular thigh, keeping a rather warm smile on his face. “I’ve found many things in the process of my adventures… Right now, I think I am just looking for truths, maybe a little soul-searching for myself while I’m at it, madame.”
At best, it was a vague answer, but it was still an answer nonetheless.

Luna felt the alcohol relax her even more and her shoulders started to slump a little while listening to Ford’s voice. She was a light weight so her now fuzzy brain missed a few of his words here and there. She got the general gist though. He didn’t seem to know or want to admit his intentions but that was fair. Luna didn’t know what she’d do if she found out most mages wanted to overthrow society. Hell, she might even join them. Sometimes ignorance was bliss.

She let out a deep sigh as she felt the conversation reach its natural conclusion. She had nothing else that she wanted to ask him and she was sure that he would have asked her if he had anything else. She said with a slurred voice, “Well, I hope you find what you’re looking for.”

She didn’t know what else to say. She wasn’t wise enough to give him any life advice and she had never felt the desire to go soul searching. Despite her last few years of hardship, her life was still relatively straightforward and felt worth living. She still had a youthful fire in her that told her if she worked hard she’d achieve her goals.

“I’ll be going now. Thanks for not being an asshole,” she said as she got to her feet and prepared to leave. There had to be a million better things she could’ve said to end their encounter, but her inebriation was getting the best of her. She added as she walked towards the door, “see you around, Ford.”

As Ford had finished speaking, it seemed Luna was done with the conversation. The Griscian watched her for a moment as she seemed to be feeling, or at least starting to feel, the effects of the alcohol and lowered his gaze down to the pitcher she had been drinking from. A studying eye looked over the partially finished pitcher before sliding his gaze over to her as she was wishing him well in his endeavors to find the information he was on the hunt for. "Thank you."

When she thanked him for not being an asshole, there had not been much of a reaction of out of the blonde when she got up and started wandering off from their table. Ford would have said something to her in politeness to bid her good luck, but she had been adamant about getting up and headed towards the door. Slowly blinking, he let out a puffed breath out of his nose, holding back a smirk from reaching his lips as he dug into the pockets of his pants, hunting for something. After a moment of searching, jostling his hand around in the pocket, his hand slipped out and retrieved a small charcoal pencil.

Pulling out the paper he had slipped into his shirt pocket, he kept it folded, closed off from its contents being seen, and began scribbling something down on the paper and underlining it. Folding the paper again, he slid the paper and charcoal pencil into his pocket and plucked up his glass. Standing, Ford moved to the bar, settled the emptied glass onto the bar top, and thanked the keep for the drink. Since he had been paid for already, he headed on out of the tavern a short time after the woman would have left, before he was off, heading not to the Guild but back home for the time being.

Comments: I really like how much detail you put into your posts and motivated Ford is to find answers. You are able to fill in the gaps in conversation very well and Ford's actions are very fluid and natural. I look forward to writing with him again if I get the chance :)
