“A drive, long enough to wrap from dusk to dawn;
To their abode, made patterns, mismatched but intriguing,

The fabric of gloam, encased the vivid colours of the clouds;
Shuffling from place to place as if travelling round and round.

The sun still vibrant at the horizon, but the moon being stubborn.
Becoming visible before it’s time, smiling to the sun… As if it said, “Goodbye, it’s my turn.”

For a moment, the amber-eyed thief couldn’t help but recite something under his breath; as the spring air cooled into the night. At this very moment, Jared was in the middle of casing a building of interest. One was present in the upper district of Genteven; It has been a couple of days now since Jared had some time to do some work rather than do any form of training or cooking. However, making sure that he was keeping up to date with all of his relevant skills, and trying not to draw as much attention to himself was as important as trying to cultivate his divinity in the best way possible.

The Alistian Draedan had a lot of time on his hand, scouting out the building of interest. From looking from a distance to sneaking up and peering through the available windows to gain a glimpse of what the building had to offer. Despite not knowing the contents that could be present within the building itself; Already being in the upper districts of Genteven was more than enough to indicate that whoever owns the building was rather wealthy in nature and that was all the more of a reason to sniff the joint out.

The exterior of this house is absolutely charming and cozy, with a beautiful combination of fir wood and yellow pine decorations. The large, symmetrical windows allow for ample natural light to flow throughout the interior. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a warm and inviting living room, complete with comfortable furnishings and tasteful decor. The three bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, offering a relaxing retreat from the stresses of daily life. The kitchen is of average size, but provides everything needed for preparing delicious meals. The bathroom is well-appointed and designed for convenience and comfort.

The dining area is cozy and intimate, perfect for enjoying meals with family and friends. A spacious basement provides ample storage space and could easily be transformed into an additional living area. The L-shaped design of the house includes a charming patio extension that runs the length of one side, providing a lovely outdoor space for relaxing and entertaining.

The second floor is just as spacious as the first, and features a balcony on one side and an overhang on the other. The roof is low and triangular, covered in sleek black tiles, with a large chimney on the side adding to the home's overall charm. The garden surrounding the house is meticulously maintained, with stylishly placed grass, flowers, and trees. This home truly is a delightful oasis, perfect for those seeking a peaceful and comfortable retreat.

“This seems to be a highly desirable area for one to settle down, although it appears that only those with notable connections have access. I am intrigued to uncover the precise nature of this individual's affiliations, prompting me to delve deeper into the matter. Always remember, the act of sharing information is both considerate and advantageous.”

At that moment, the thief started to make his way towards the building, using the cover of night to aid him through his stealthy approach as he darts from cover to cover. Compared to lower districts, there aren’t many crates and barrels. It was also noted that the guards patrolling the area were in larger groups and making their rounds more frequently, which is fair due to the power that merchants & respected mages have in Daravin.

As the thief approached the building, he noted that there was a sturdy fence surrounding it. The fence was the first line of defence against any intruders. However, he was not deterred. He noticed that there was a locked gate barring his way. The gate presented him with two options: either to scale the fence, disable the lock, or use his divine powers to unlock the gate. The latter seemed like the easier option, so he decided to try it out.

He carefully approached the gate and touched it with his gloved hands. He then activated the Bypass function, which was a key feature of his divine abilities. The Bypass function allowed him to unlock the gate without making any noise. Sure enough, the gate quietly unlocked, and he was able to open it without any difficulty. He made sure to close it behind him, leaving no trace of his entry. It was a successful stealth operation, and he was pleased with himself.

As soon as the thief with striking amber eyes stepped into the building, they paused to survey their surroundings. They quickly summoned a small bead of light, utilizing the power of Ray to aid in their search. After all, the dim moonlight was not nearly as helpful as the bright rays of the sun. Using the orb, they carefully illuminated the area within a five-foot radius, casting a soft light that was akin to the flicker of a candle flame. The Draedan scoundrel was meticulous in their search, leaving no stone unturned as they combed through the space. Even if they were not yet inside the building, they scanned for any tell-tale signs of wealth or ornate items that were commonly displayed by the affluent. The Alistian thief was always on the lookout for a chance to snag such treasures or to uncover secret passages that might lead to even greater spoils.

Upon thorough inspection, the burglar swiftly came to the realization that there was nothing of significant value or hidden compartments to be found within the vicinity. This lack of secret compartments was not unexpected, as the process of constructing such features can be both laborious and expensive. Even those who are well-off may attract suspicion if they have a concealed room or passageway. Nevertheless, it is important to remember that things are not always as they appear at first glance.

Upon first glance, the building's exterior appeared to be impeccably maintained. The walls were free of any visible damage, and the windows were spotless. It was clear that the maintenance team responsible for the building took their job seriously. However, the thief knew better than to be swayed by superficial details. He needed to keep his eyes focused on his goal: gaining access to the building undetected.

As he surveyed the building, he noted several entry points. The front door presented itself as a viable option, but the thief also spotted several windows on both the ground and upper levels that could serve his purpose. He weighed the pros and cons of each entry point, knowing that he needed to find the most discreet way in.

Since it was nighttime, the thief realized that he could enter through the front door without drawing too much attention, as long as he was quiet. He cautiously approached the front of the building and pressed his ear against the door, listening for any signs of activity inside. He knew that even the slightest noise could alert the building's occupants, and he couldn't afford to be caught.

Upon verifying that there were no irregularities, the burglar proceeded to manipulate the lock. Jared, on the other hand, fetched a set of tools made of metal that had been blackened. He had been given them as compensation for a job that he had been unable to complete a few months prior. Despite this, he still couldn't entirely fathom why he had failed to complete the task, or if it was his conscience guiding him towards the truth.

As Jared approached the door, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. As a seasoned thief, he had seen his fair share of locks, and this one seemed to be of superior quality. Despite this, he knew he had a skill that would allow him to bypass it with ease. He carefully covered the chamber of the lock with his violet-purple divinity, ensuring that he left no signs of tampering. The light from his Ray proved to be immensely helpful, illuminating the angles of his lockpicks and allowing him to work quickly and efficiently. With his experience and expertise, he was able to identify the security pins with ease, and although it took a few minutes and a few resets, he eventually heard the satisfying click of the door opening. As he stepped inside, Jared couldn't help but feel slightly out of breath from the effort, but it was all worth it in the end.

“Alright… Slowly and silently…. The real show begins…”

It was at this point, the thief would slowly open the door as the purple-coloured divinity fades into the ethereal; with the orb of light conjured by his own will acting as his only source of light as he enters the building with tensions running high.
