The young Sil'Norai walked through the streets, it was still crowded at the dusk, everyone had finished either their shifts at their office of employment, or have been eager to express their most hedonistic desires of drinking, including some of the students from Nardothis. The looks of admiration begin to stir as he walked through the streets, from the glances of women to the attention of males. It was a Sil'Norai thing, having to be one of the favorable races, there was indeed a reason why he had been glamoured in enamorment. Yet he had a purpose to fulfill.

A purpose of great intention.

It had been two days ago since he had sent the letter to Ellasir. The ebon knight that he had heard rumors about whilst he was at Nardothis. It struck him with intrigue, it was not everyday that you'd meet an ebon knight in the middle of Daravin. Usually, they were forced to fight for Aldrin's cause to liberate Sil Elaine. However, this proved him to be useful, especially since he had heard that he was Sil'Norai, his own brother kin. If he played his cards right, he could have someone equipt to protect him, whilst he is studying in the walls of Nardothis. The journey there and back proved to be harsh, with no direct transport, its usually a couple of journeys on horseback. Sometimes, the risk for a shortcut is to go through the Badlands, something that Caladrin didn't necessarily think greatly off.

He entered the tavern, it appeared to be rowdy with mages, soldiers and military officials, conversations of war could be heard from a mile away, from the bragging of soldiers dealing with Druskai conquest, to the mourning of soldiers who had passed recently. However, the sombre mood wasn't something that Caladrin had hoped for. The more elusive the ebon knight was, the more intrigued Caladrin became about his motives, his overall mission, his overall psyche. He only knew too well of his father being driven to fight a good cause, but yet never had he seen a free ebon knight roaming around like he owned the place. Perhaps he was a qualified bounty hunter, serving to drive blood mages and dranoch out from their anarchistic underworlds.

Either way, Caladrin had an offer for him, it was his choice weither he chose to accept.

He moved over to the bar as he tapped the table twice for service. A habit he always had when it comes to obtaining a quicker service. Most of them found that expression of impatience quite rude, for Caladrin was an impatient man at times, although it was not his fault. Most mages were within the Entente.

Company: Possible Employer| Thoughts: I'll Listen for now| Mood: Calm & Cautious

Sitting there in the tavern I was supposed to meet this Caladrin person in, I couldn't help but re-read the letter sent to me. I wasn't opposed to helping the man, as coin was coin and I know I would be in need of a lot of it. What was making me uncomfortable however was the fact that he knew of my ebon knighthood. Granted I did make quite the entrance flashing my pyromancy around but still, I didn't think word would travel that fast.

Besides I couldn't count on Haldir making all the money decisions for me, I am a grown man after all. I was here by myself, waiting for my contact I started to ponder if any good would come of this. Though I found it was already too late for doubt, I was here after all so I might as well see this through. Besides no one said I had to accept his offer, so hearing the man out couldn't be so bad.

It wasn't too soon when a new patron entered the tavern. I could tell he was Sil'norai, we had a look about us that one couldn't really be mistaken. I watched for a moment as he come and got settled in. It was obvious he was awaiting someone, picking a spot at the bar. He didn't seem to fit the crowd, he smelled of nobility to me, at least that's what I got from a first glance. It seemed his mannerisms were garnering disdained looks from others and I smirked as I stood and made my way over.

"Caladrin I presume?" I inquired in our native tongue, leaning against the bartop as I looked the man over.

He heard the male speak; the native tounge that he recognised. Silvain. It was recognisable in family conversations, however there was a air of curiousity to him. He smiled as he took his cup from the bartender and nodded to him. "Why, thank you..." His gaze turned towards the man as he raised an eyebrow, inspecting his figure "I wanted a bodyguard and here you are, only you're quite taller than I had anticipated." He laughed as he gave him an admiring gaze as their native tounge had been spoken. The other SIl'Norai on the other hand seemed nervous to be here. Of course, he did cause quite a stir when flashing his abilities about. Still, he wondered if it was the way he was presenting himself.

"Apologies, for I did not want to make such request. My family however, they worry for me" He shrugged as he tilted his head for a moment; smiling in enamorment "I must say, an ebon knight in front of me; I'd thought you'd have fangs or horns or something? First time that I've ever seen one up close" He sipped his wine as he gazed amongst him with awe. The man looked over at him as he was stood up still "Well, I assume you don't need permission to have a seat around here?" He spoke in Silvain. His attitude was rather sassy, yet blatantly rude on a passive aggressive scale. However, he was always blunt with his approach, yet quite intimidating, some of the peasants even gave him looks. After all, racism was quite common amongst the poorer folk. It became more prominent as they spoke within their tounge. Silvain.

It appeared to be even more of a taboo to speak such language in the terms of peasants. However, they couldn't touch the Entente; since they had more political power over them. They were higher up in the realms of representing Ulen; it was the prophecy of the Returning King that kept the people of Daravin in great hope. But to others; it was a curse. A great curse from the past that even so; the thought of paranoia lingered in the minds of humans believing that they would be enslaved by Sil'Norai once again. The fact is, their race was dying; it was up to other Sil'Norai to unite together.

It was just as I was expected, the one seeking me out was a noble who wanted someone to fight their battles for them. It wasn't too much of a surprise but it was one I was coming to expect, especially from those in Daravin. What was making me cautious is the fact that he knew of my elven blood and most importantly, my affiliations. I couldn't truly let my guard down.

Looking at him as he eyed me down I found him less than impressive as he held an air about him that screamed entitled. It meant this may be a boring contract, and I don't know if I had time to deal with him. So far he wasn't impressing me, so I figured we'd get straight to the point. Motioning I went to return to the spot I had been sitting before he walked in.

Looking at him I sipped on my drink before speaking. "Let the start with how you know I am an Ebon Knight. I don't believe any display I've demonstrated would lead to that conclusion so I'm rather curious as to how some young noble knows this." my stare never broke as I grilled him, but I leaned forward to ensure he heard me clearly.

"Secondly I would appreciate if you would keep that part of my line of work quiet, I would hate for my query to be alerted of my presence, cause if they get away, you'll have more than your need for a bodyguard to worry about." I concluded, sitting back in my seat as I downed my drink, before connecting eyes with the man once again.

"So what exactly do you need guarding from?"

The first question seemed much more defensive as he tilts his head "Well, judging by the marks on the scene you left; there were slight rumors. Welcome to Daravin, the land of eyes and ears as they say..." He said with a slight smile, although things would sour somewhat as he became much more adversarial.

The intimidating nature of the man didn't stop break his resolve as he looked up at the man. One drop of Pathos could put the man to sleep, or worse; he was not ready for such potent magic yet, he was a fledgling in the art unlike the man who stood up infront of him. He was a ebon knight, a figure of liberation, freedom and justice; he was not some mere student at Nardothis who had just started out. He did not stand for the threatening nature of the other man, only challenged it; The young Sil'Norai's stare became intense for a moment as his heterochromatic orbs of silver and gold focused him; the eye contact that pierced through his soul "May I remind you; you're the one who decided to make a flashy fireworks display in the city, and now you have an audience." He spoke in SIlvain; he paused as he took a sip of his drink as he looked around. It was a den of wolves everywhere; political spies and other opportunists could be lingering elsewhere.

"I'll keep quiet, but others may not..." He said again in their native tongue; there was a sincerity to his voice as he looked at him. His expression softened as he looked at the man "Frankly, I need protection when I leave for Nardothis; next season in Amoren, my family are somewhat paranoid about the threats and would prefer me to be checked up upon. I will be taking such travels to continue by studies... However..." His stare turned a bit stern, cold and yet somewhat resentful of the fact that his family was interfering; he understood that they wanted the best for him. "I don't wanna always be reliant on someone to protect me, perhaps if you'd be willing to teach me your combat methods, I'd be grateful... I know it's not a easy stretch, but frankly I value my independance; I will earn it if I must. I might be young but I'm not stupid although I sometimes question if my family has faith in me but... That's up to them, not me." He finished in their native tongue.

"For this, you'll have mine and my family's rapport; what say you?"
