The Front Page Shop
Image

In the early 98th AoS year a scholarly couple from the Academy opened a bookstore, unaware that they had created what would eventually be a popular joint within Alfsos. While books and reading was never always the first choice for any typical Atinorin, those at the Academy quickly took favor and frequented the business. By late 104 AoS the Front Page bookstore had earned enough to expand on it's business, and due to a passionate love for the literary arts; a printing room became the additional part of the shop's growing success.

Ever since 105 Aos the Front Page has not only sold books and articles, but also printed them in partnership with the Academy and it's students. The proprietress Mirielle has spearheaded the journalism front since it's addition, allowing intern and tutorship for aspiring writers; most of which are often from the Academy itself. The Front Page does everything it can to help promote local businesses, as well as spread the latest word around the city as well. Yet there is one thing Mirielle prides her journalistic fronts on, and it's that whatever is printed is absolute truth.

Therefore any who attempt to spread gossip or rumor, find themselves called out by the chief editor herself; and tested before they're publishing privileges are revoked.

The bookstore is fitted so that the first two rooms are stocked with books, considerably the library, where customers can shop for a book or visit for a quick read. While the rooms in back are customized into offices and a printing area, so that students partaking in Miri's journalism front have a place to work quietly. While there is a staircase that leads up to the second floor of the building, that usually remains closed off to the public; due to it leading up to the rooms of those who run the bookstore.

Title: Owner
NPC Type: Local
NPC Influence: Level 2

Jorgen is a jaunty man who values humor above all else, hopeful to see his customers leaving with a smile before too long. Wittiness aside however he takes his role as a bookkeeper rather seriously, believing that books are what will help mortalkind one day grow into something greater. As a young scholar he had always sought to learn more, eager to understand the workings of the world. When he'd met his beloved Mirielle however, that's when he knew life at the Academy wasn't enough. Thus he set out on his biggest business venture yet, unaware of the thriving success he garnered from the Academy's support also. While books are the foundation of his life, he's never afraid to admit that his family has been what's motivated him.

Thus he's always eager to teach a willing soul, usually through a impressionable story, just how powerful words can be when at one's disposal. Jorgen is also responsible for the owl, Erwin, who happens to be the stores favorite mascot.

Race: Human
DoB: Searing 52, 58 AoS
Title: Owner, Chief Editor
NPC Type: Local
NPC Influence: Level 2

Believe it or not Mirielle started out as a barmaid, aspiring for fame and fortune on the stage at a young age. Her wild and spirited personality has always made impressions on those she has met, yet the aspiring star had found it far too challenging to achieve such goals; but where the world of books was concerned anything was possible. Mirielle learned that through reading she could escape from the world, and venture into new ones through the power of storytelling. Thus when she met and fell in love with Jorgen, it was only natural that she opened a book shop with him. Books became the very thing she knew, and while her talent for writing grew better; her tenacity alone is what enabled her to begin the journalism industry.

Thanks to all her effort at the Academy, Mirielle has established a rather successful branch in her business. When she became Chief Editor of The Front Page articles, she did it with the sole intent of bringing truth and joy to the rest of Atinaw.
